(More customer reviews)This came free with a new laptop loaded with Vista Premium, so I figured it wouldn't be too difficult to get it to work with Vista. I was wrong. After installing the software on the included CD, the PC failed to even recognize the printer. I then went to Lexmark's website and after hunting around, found a Vista driver. I downloaded and installed it (there were no instructions on whether or how to roll back any previously installed Lexmark software) but it failed to fully install. I could get the printer to work, but the scanner and copier features didn't even show up and pressing their buttons didn't work at all. After several disconnected sessions with Lexmark's online tech support, I finally wrote an email. In response, I received a link to a new page that I hadn't seen before, including what appeared to be a new version of the Vista driver. I downloaded and installed it, and a week after getting the printer, it finally worked. I did have to download another patch to take care of a clicking problem with the scanner, but by that time, I was just grateful to get the printer to work at all.
My problem isn't with the printer or even the software for the scanner or copier (which on many all-in-one units is pretty bad). My problem is with the incredibly bad customer support offered by Lexmark, at least in comparison to what I am used to with HP printers. I would not buy a Lexmark product based on the poor support.
